Not just tax credits brah.
Don't care. Way worse things the government has spent money on

How do you even redirect those air vents?

Why'd they stick an iPad to the dash?
For such an expensive car you'd think they could've built in a screen

Looks like they're going in the wrong direction, stylistically - I agree.
I loved the roadster (but out of my range).
I really like the Model S. The X? Color me "unimpressed". I'm reserving judgment until the 3 comes out.

Hardware is easily upgradeable that way? (I'm spitballing.)
They've gotten good reviews from the Model S control systems. Haven't looked at much on the X, because I'm not a crossover SUV type driver/owner.

So that makes it OK for the taxpayers to build cars for rich people?

pick your kids up in that at the car line and they will be the envy of the school.

an EPA estimated range of 240 miles on one charge
Nice. When we can get an affordable electric car that gets this kind of range, I'll be buying.

No. $50k is not mass market. Elon is not going to slightly undercut his Model S
The Model S is 75k starting, although you get a current 7500 tax credit on your returns. The 3 will be "35k" with the 7500 credit, "10k gas savings" and the few states that have a credit still going. It will be 50k easily on the pocket book

How long to charge?
Unsure here.
I think the length of charging is only an issue on trips.
For driving around town, I never go 240 miles in a single day. I would charge up every evening I get home and you are ready for the next morning.
My apartment just got two charging stations making this kind of car feasible...but I imagine owning electric vehicle is a challenge for most apartment dwellers.

I cant imagine too many apartment folks buying 75k cars.

Excited to see what the regular Model X will cost. I presume it will be similar to the Model S.
This article says that the X pricing will be about a $5K to X pricing for any given feature mix selected. It says S is $70K, so presumably the base X is $75K. I want the base + the better battery.

True. $75K is really a different bracket of wealth than folks that buy $45-50K cars. I see tons of apartment dwellers with $50K Mercedes/BMW/Audi but I don't think I have any Tesla's at the complex right now.

The only caveat is that due to scarcity, the resale values tend to be very high. I'd guess that if you paid $75K for an X and then sold it in one year, you'd get at least $65K for it. That's why I've decided to take the plunge and get one - I just don't think the downside risk is nearly the same as if you buy an expensive BMW or similar.

The P85D Model S ($100K+) just broke Consumer Reports rating system giving it a 103 out of 100 score...Tesla make a damn good car which is reason enough to buy it. The resale value is gravy
