Your sarcasm is noted but like most terror attacks it was probably done by citizens of the country where it occurred.

Impossible. Guns are outlawed in France.

You're about as statistically likely to die from hypothermia in the united states as from guns in France.

Pro 2nd amendment right here, but this is silly and brought up every single time there is a shooting in Europe

France obviously needs more gun control

Ban crowds

But really let's worry less about banning things that people mostly use for good reasons (white lorries, guns, etc) and start worrying about minimizing the number of people who want to use them for terrible reasons.

Banning the means of self defense while you import terrorists is insanity.

I'm assuming he meant gun deaths here are about as likely as hypothermia deaths here, but even then, I'd imagine he's way off.

For frick's sake, this blows.

I think a lot of people who have followed radical islam for a long time almost experienced frustration by how predictions of attacks in Europe really didn't come to fruition (in late 90s and 00s). It's not that they/we were hoping for attacks, we just couldn't match the rhetoric and population boom and radicalization increases with the end result.

Now that it appears to be happening, it unsettles me more than I anticipated. Maybe I was lulled into thinking we'd never see Europe pay the price for letting PC interfere with state security.

This is all France 24 has at the moment

A van ploughed into a crowd leaving a fireworks display in the French Riviera city of Nice on Thursday, injuring several people and sparking panic in what local officials said could be an attack.

Security forces and ambulances raced to the scene, and authorities from the local Alpes-Maritimes prefecture urged residents to stay indoors.

An AFP reporter described seeing a white van driving at high speed onto the famed Promenade des Anglais as people were leaving after the annual Bastille Day celebration display.

"We saw people hit and bits of debris flying around," he said, adding that the incident took place near the city's famed Hotel Negresco.

Terrified pedestrians screamed as they fled the area. "It was absolute chaos," he said.
A huge security cordon was established closing off the central Place Massena by 2330 GMT, another AFP correspondent said.
