SIAP, but apparently Nice was already on high alert prior to this incident. From a FB friend of mine who goes there frequently, and was there just last month.

For those that really know me, my heart lies half in France. ________ and I vacationed in Nice just last month for 8 days. 2 blocks away from where the attacks began. I am sad for France because I knew it was coming. Code Red status when we left...really means that. What a loss for a great nation.

quote:

Yes, first, the rail systems, trash, and airlines were on strike. Not to mention the Seine was flooded. Saw the remnants of a Syrian shanty town while Ubering my way to the airport. There are militia all over Paris with machine guns....every militia even coming back from Italy. The metro was a huge target and we didn't step foot in it. It was the first time I ever felt, I wanted to get out. It wasn't a matter of it for me, it was a matter of where and when...for sure.

Had a friend on that street 2 days ago. Could have been him if he decided to stay for Bastille Day. Shocking stuff.

I heard on the radio today that they had literally taken the country off of their high alert status the day of or the day before this attack, I've been drinking and don't remember exactly. But if your friend left last month, I believe that the high alert was taken off very recently.

I can't seem to find anywhere whether or not this was another ISIS attack?

This will probably be painted as a rogue lone wolf incident by our government and media....just like San Bernardino, Orlando, and Dallas. It's frustrating that they can't admit where the problem lies and that we need to kill it. Until then, this stuff is gonna happen with higher frequency because we let them do it.

Time for the JV team to go bye bye

I think this is going to be another loosely related ISIS connection like in San Bernardino and Orlando. That seems to be the preferred M.O. for ISIS lately, at least in the West. They send out general "kill infidels by any means" instructions to anyone who is interested and somewhere a person who has the means and just enough crazy will see it through.

An attack this big, in France.. on a national holiday.. seems to be planned by a group such as Isis who is claiming it.

There was a thread either here or on the political board of some guy saying it was just a lone wolf guy going nuts.. nothing to do with Isis.. Seems more than just that.. but of course these people are already not right in the head.. but I feel he did this for Isis.. whether they were directly involved or not.. probably so though given it was in France on their national day.

ISIS has a "news agency"? God damn. talk about a tough, high pressure job. Bet it's tough to get any interviews.
