Although Chicago is known as The Windy City, it is actually Billings MT that records the highest amount of wind per year.

As you should be able to. I never understood the concept about owning water. People are strange about land ownership out west.

That law seems pretty messed up to me, going on private property bc you followed a stream? That's just asking for a shootout

I can see both sides of it. If I owned land with a steam I wouldn't like people walking it though

I live in Bozeman. If you ever come through, I'll buy you a beer.

Billings is alright. Blue collar town and definitely isn't the prettiest place in MT. Traffic is pretty bad for MT but it doesn't hold a candle to the worst of Louisiana or Texas. Unless you live in the Heights east of town, air quality can suck a bit in the winter since the smog gets trapped in the valley created by the cliffs. It's a regional hub so you've got everything you really need right there in town.

If I lived there I'd spend a lot of my weekends in Red Lodge/Absarokee/Paradise Valley/Bozeman.

Except for the fact that you cannot use deadly force for defense of property.

So that means not much crime correct. I mean is there like a shooting everyday like in good ole Baton Rouge????? If I were to move to Montana I would move outside of Mizzoula. Heard great things about that place.

Depending on which one, the jobs may not be as secure as you think.

There were 8 homicides in Yellowstone County last year, which is the entire Billings metro area and is the most populous county in Montana.

How long have you been there? I used to live there and left a year ago. Never saw any LSU folks, but loved that town!

Get some hiking gear and go to Glacier National Park. It's amazing.

Nice thread, I was looking to relocate to Montana as well. Which town has the best prospects for women?

It's a blue collar refinery town, out on the plains. Hot as balls in summer, and frigid beyond belief in winter. Nothing to block the wind except barb wire fences, so it blows all the time. You are close to some of the world's great scenic wonders, but none of it is in the immediate area, so you will still have to drive a few hours to see anything interesting.

Think Midland-Odessa, with some national parks within driving distance.

There's an underclass wherever you go. In Montana, it's white people on meth and alcoholic Indians.
