Well, it has at least one positive thing going for it then.

Good thing you did. I always imagined Montana as Compton lite.

FWIW, I've never been to Montana but it's at the top of my bucket list. I wouldn't mind retiring there one day

Just stay away from East Billings, it gets rough over there. Don't wear red or blue and you should survive.

Billings is a blue collar town. As far a cities go, I would compare it to Jackson MS minus any demographics obviously.

Billings actually has fairly mild winters compared to other parts of the state.

Several good breweries in the downtown area, so it has that going for it. Which is nice.

Compared to us southerners (that includes you, HoustonChick86) it's cold AF during the winter. 40 below is mild to you? Try harder.

I'm interested in Montana too. What line of work are you in?

Billings is very blue collar. They have a fair amount of industrial areas there. Are you working specifically in Billings, and not outside of it? I ask because Bozeman is a great city. College town that is very picturesque. It's about 2 hrs away however. If you relocate to Billings, Bozeman is worth the occasional drive.
