the nopd is just a big money laundering operation like the entire cantrell administration. hiring kirkpatrick is actually less of a joke than hiring some clown in the nopd.

i think whoever the people are who put cantrell in office to sell the city out are looking to start turning a profit, so they at least need a somewhat adequate police force instead of the full blown joke that the nopd is.

Has strong ties to the FBI. That’s going to be needed in her fight against the White Supremacy that is slowly destroying NOLA.

i just want a police chief who isn't a complete sellout and will help enforce laws against criminals by backing up the police on the street.

there's a group of people with a certain ethnic persuasion that are the power behind cantrell. the whole plan is to make the city as worthless as possible and buy up everything they can.

i know one of the guys who runs the financing for a lot of the commercial real estate in new orleans.

we could use another irish infusion into this town.

The search committee calling her a distant 4th and indications the council would challenge her plus some recent flubs probably sealed that more than anything

Woodfork didn't have the votes on the council.

Woodfork has done an ok job as the interim. But just like in football, you need to do the job at a smaller school first, to hone your chops to be ready for a big city full time gig. There have been too many errors because of her lack of experience.

If she wanted it, she would be an easy hire to be chief at a smaller police department, gain some experience, and then come back at some point as the chief under Mayor Oilver Thomas.

Teedy does it again!

My guess is she tells Woodfork to "hang in there for a little bit" while she makes this Kirkpatrick's life an impossible hell as PD Chief.

She will resign in 6 months and Woodfork gets the job. Teedy can wash her hands of it saying "I tried to give whitey a chance and look what happened..."

I guess she didn't want to risk Vappie sleeping with his superiors as well.

Not that I'm advocating for any of this but that Korematsu Center was founded in 2009 and she graduated 35 years ago. I am also sure the mission statement has changed a bit since then.

Oakland and Chicago experience, so the raw levels of homicides shouldn't shock her.
