Teacher Appreciation

I volunteered at a local elementary school today for Junior Achievement, and those kids behaved terribly. No respect whatsoever even when the teacher tried to get their attention. I can see why teachers are exhausted after 8 straight hours of dealing with them. It made me realize we have an at home discipline problem which is directly impacting society.

What do you expect when schools are treated like daycares and teachers are treated like babysitters?

God bless you friend. I was at a middle school in Caddo for 4 years and I aged like the President.

The OT makes fun of teachers all the time, but I would ride on the back of a garbage truck and dump trash instead of being a teacher.

But it’s the teachers. They are lazy, fat and dumb. They are the main problem in education. Not the apathetic rude student, absent parent, the over paid administration , the out of touch school board or the over paid Superintendent - it’s the teacher you idiots!!!! The OT.

This is what you get with "I want to be friends" with my children behavior from young adults who don't know how to parent or discipline their children and raise them to know right from wrong.

Being a teacher is the hardest job in the world. And it’s getting to be the most dangerous job in the world too

I volunteered and substituted at my kids school. Private school and kids I knew on some levels.
I taught K-5. The worst experience was doing PE for every grade.
Never went home more tired than some of those days.

You’re right, being a stay at home mom is the hardest job
Teacher is third behind nurse

Send your kids to a small school in a small town. Problem solved

I’m blessed to be teaching in a private school. Kids can be kids but at least the ones that I teach show respect.

I used to do “Career Day” at the local Middle School. As the year’s passes I saw the decline in respect for any type of authority even at 3rd - 5th grade level.
If I started out making the kids laugh it was just so much better. On a few occasions I told the teacher to get a disruptive kid out of the class. They did haul em off. Bet that won’t happen today.

I've found that if you have a good Princpal/Assistant Principal that makes all the difference in the world.

Exactly. Judging by the title I was expecting something different.
