All you trolls can GFY.

I know this is the OT, but punkin has been through a lot with her son and been fricked over by insurance companies.

She's a strong lady doing what's best for her son.

lol...uh actually they aren't. The kids i am referring to are juniors in high school, so they have had many years of social interaction. The public school system in my area is terrible due to overcrowding, lack of discipline in the classrooms, etc. They weren't learning very much as far as an education goes.

I hear that two teachers just lost their jobs in St. Charles Parish. One day you should see if they'll take over his curriculum.

Jokes aside. I'm really sorry. You seem to be handling it really well.

LOL, we will see how funny it is when my home schooled kid gets a 4.0 in engineering while your kids social skills get everyone to smile at him while he fixes their fries.

What about sports?

You know the how the saying goes:

Kids who hunt and fish don't steal and deal

I know it doesn't mention sports but you get the picture.

If your comment is to me, we are in a home school association. There is football, basketball, baseball soccer and girls volleyball. We play sports against other home school associations. Sports is how we got to know some the homeschooled kids as some of them participate in rec. sports too

Actually it is. We scrimmage at the beginning of the baseball season against other local high school teams(public and private). Believe it or not, as far as baseball goes, they are very competitive with other public high school teams. Don't know about the other sports as my sons only played baseball

You are hilarious. Everybody knows home schooled kids can't be athletic. Good one. You should do stand up.

I know two different people that this happened to.

Both kids lived. Well one is still really young, but she's doing much better. She's still being home schooled due to immune system issues, but the school system comes by and checks in on her. She's way ahead of the other kids her age, even though she's on a ton of meds and has issues with short term memory.

In the other case, the parents spoiled the kid rotten and didn't teach him a thing. Now he's a grown man who will never be able to live on his own even though health wise he's fine. His family says he's "slow" due to the treatments he went through. That's BS. He's slow because they raised him to be an idiot.

And I sort of think that if you treat a kid like the worse is going to happen, it will. That's why you should never give your daughter a name that she could use while dancing for dollars.

Scrimmaged against the Class 5A state champs JV team last year. We had 14 kids on our team(3 seniors, rest were 10 and 11 graders). I would also say the level of talent on some of the opposing teams would be about Class B & C. We came out 3rd in the state tournament. The winning team (from Lake Charles, go figure) i would put up against most any other high school except the elites (Barbe, STM, Parkway Baptist, etc.)

I was homeschooled. 5th grade through 12th. I was a high level gymnast, so I got to work out everyday. It was a good path for me (I probably would have been a hellion). I got a 29 on the ACT and was a very social child (and adult). Most kids I knew who homeschooled were quiet and a bit super-religious. But to each his own.
We were Catholic and used a very good college-prep correspondence curriculum. It became very apparent early on that my mom and I had zero patience for each other, so I taught myself. I knew what had to be done because I read all of the lesson plans. My experience was not typical at all, but it worked for me. Good luck!

Why did this make me laugh so hard?

ETA: Best of luck to you, punkin.

My brother was homeschooled for 2 years, but I'm pretty sure he just got to dick around and go with mom to run errands. He did some bible thumper program where every subject incorporated jesus.

Weird stuff.

I don't recommend that

Not saying their are unique clusters of homeschoolers, but this is why the homeschool stereotype exists
