HOUSTON (RNN) - Taco Bell will open more than 300 new locations with revamped layouts across the country by 2022.

According to Food & Wine, the new locations will be "cantina style," meaning they won't have a drive-through and will serve alcohol.

On the menu will be beer, sangria and Twisted Freezes - slushies with tequila, rum or vodka.

The new stores will open mostly in urban areas, according to KHOU. They will feature local artwork and open kitchens, so you can watch your food being cooked.

This is just the latest in Taco Bell's attempt to revolutionize their brand.

Earlier this year, the chain partnered with Lyft, a taxi-like service. A feature added to the Lyft app, called "Taco Mode," takes riders to nearby Taco Bell restaurants en route to their destination.

Taco Bell currently operates more than 7,000 restaurants worldwide and 5,604 in the U.S.

As long as I can still order 5 items for impossibly low prices I don't care what they do with the decor.

Can you even imagine the kind of person who would go out drinking at a taco bell?

Yet they won't bring back the chili cheese burrito.

I don't understand how marketing and research thought this idea up and thought it would actually be a move in the right direction.

Half of the appeal of a Taco Bell if not more, is quick, "fast" access to "mexican" food. Closing the drive through, just to serve a margarita seems like a FAIL.

If i can see that why can't the people making millions of dollars to do this see it?

I remember the scene in my college apt. bathroom after a night of drinking followed by TB.

I'll pass.

And it seems Louisiana of all places would fight to keep the drive through and booze option open.

I think I reference Demolition Man almost half the time I'm near a Taco Bell.

I can't help it.

No one knows what I'm talking about though.

Don't people go to TB to try to get some anti-hangover grub in their stomachs? This will wreck that demo.
