I don't understand how marketing and research thought this idea up and thought it would actually be a move in the right direction.

Half of the appeal of a Taco Bell if not more, is quick, "fast" access to "mexican" food. Closing the drive through, just to serve a margarita seems like a FAIL.

If i can see that why can't the people making millions of dollars to do this see it?

It's a very specific market.

Which is why they are doing 300 out of 7,000 locations.

There is one in Vegas. If it's late at night and you are drunk and want another drink and a taco, you won't be driving thru, you are going to walk there or uber there from your hotel.

Have you ever been to the Krystal in the French Quarter? A taco bell nearby like this would print money.

Can you even imagine the kind of person who would go out drinking at a taco bell?

The set up like this in Vegas is apparently killing it.

Does anyone else think their food taste worse than it did years ago? Maybe it s just the stuff I liked but I used to enjoy a chicken soft taco now it that disgusting shredded chicken goop. Even the standard soft taco taste bad to me.

Nah I think it taste better. Way fresher, and apparently its now one of the more healthier fast food chains.

There is a Taco Bell Cantina here in Austin as well. It's on "The Drag" at UT. A collection of restaurants and strip-mall type stores that students can walk to.

Yet they won't bring back the chili cheese burrito.

It's available at my local TB. Not on the menu, but order and you shall receive.

Taco Cabana has drive-thrus and serves booze... And their food is 1000x better than taco bell.

The next phase should turn those into drive-through daiquiris that also serve tex-mex

Waffle House has always had booze, it's just BYOB.

Sounds like Truett's Grill with booze. I think there will be some moderate success in locations but seems risky going against Taco Cabana on their home turf.
