You can easily find a Highlander Limited in that price range. We just bought a 2015 Blizzard Pearl Limited with very low miles for that exact price.

New Honda Pilot

For $35k you should have a lot to choose from if you're patient, informed and don't compromise. Car dealers make their living off spur of the moment and same day purchases.

I got a new Pilot for $36 and some change out the door a few weeks after they released.

No haggling due to demand but helped out more on trade.

Now that they have been out a little, you might get a few bones off.

We bought a new Pilot for less than that before ttl in 2013. I've really liked to this point.

My last three company vehicles have been a Chevy Trailblazer, a Dodge Durango, and a Ford Explorer. All were very nice, but of the three, only the Durango and the Explorer had third row seats.

Both were about the same size having similar head and leg room in each row of seating. Both had nice option packages and nice styling. The Durango was certainly a more robust vehicle with lots of power and pretty heavy springs for light towing. The explorer had a smoother ride and a little nicer styling and electronics.

The explorer got several miles more per gallon of fuel.

I got a brand new Jeep GC Overland for not much more than what you are looking

I think is my next purchase in less than a year.

I've bounced around so many SUV's but I think I've decided on a Jeep GC Summit.

anecdotal but I would caution against the Grand Cherokees. I almost died in mine last night when the power steering went out and it died while I was going 65. apparently it is common in 2012-15s. :/

The wife is leaning towards a Ford Explorer. I want to look in to more options before making a decision

GMC Acadia... We were in the same place last year. Liked the drive and ride of the Acadia but went with the Explorer because it looked cool in Red. Got an Explorer Sport in Red. It hauls arse but drinks gas. The wife feels cool... all that matters. I heard the Pilot was awesome BTW

We'll probably look at explorers, a pilot or a highlander and figure out which we like the most. Thanks for all of the advice

Definitely not a mini van

The smoothest ride I ever had was in a minivan. It is weird the stigma that is attached to them these days.
