Is there any such thing? Some moron at gym was telling me how good his supps are because they are p-grade.

How do you have over the counter pharmaceutical grade without a prescription? ;-)

It's a marketing gimmick. Many supplements fall way short in containing what they say they contain.

What kind of supplements are you talking about?

Even with protein, most lie about their protein content

No they contain what they say they contain. It is just that the contents can't be utilized by the human body the way the marketing makes the meathead think they will be utilized. You are basically paying for really expensive bowel movements and piss.

There was an interesting Frontline on this. Basically, they skimp on the levels of whatever it's supposed to be and it's frequently comingled with crap like sawdust. This is referring to all supplements and herbal foolishness, not just Joe Weider's BIG weight gain powder.

Motherfricking this^ been trying to tell people this for years. One thing I'll add is the famous "proprietary blend" gimmick is a way of them hiding the fact that they don't have enough of whatever to be effective. It's promoted as a way to hide their super secret revolutionary barely legal genetics altering recipe

Buy ingredients, not concoctions
Ex: buy Creatine not "Super Tiger Pump Creasplosion"

Except it is wrong. It does not contain what it says it contains.

Reddit users tested the actual protein contents of many whey proteins, and found that many don't contain anywhere near what they said. I'll find the spreadsheet

LINK

For instance, EAS contained 75% what they claimed. ON contained 91%, which was the best

American Whey contained 1% of the claimed amount

Pharmaceutical grade makes your upper teeth go numb and makes your throat contract.

Oh I don't doubt that. There is a QC agency that supp companies can align themselves with. It's voluntary & not sure how it works. Assume it's kinda like a school being accredited. I don't mess with a lot of different supp companies. I have one that we use for our basic needs(protein, bcaa, glut, crea, CLA). Get multis from 1st step
