God damn you are dumb. Troopers don't trump up tickets.
And like all these geniuses are telling you...go waste a day in court. And when the Troooer doesn't show, the judge will tell you to come back and waste another day. Totally worth it.

This-- the burden of proof is on the trooper to prove it. Unless he has a picture to prove his point the jude will rule in her favor- if she is convincing in her testimony
I can tell you've never been inside the 19th JDC for traffic court. Someone showing up to fight a seat belt ticket will be laughed at, literally. The trooper will just say "no, she did not have her seat belt on" and it's over.

Nah, every single one I have ever gotten (all over the state) was $25.
FTR, the cops show up to court 99.99% of the time, so when people tell you to hope they don't show, don't get your hopes up. Your best bet is to call the DA and talk to them about it
The only times I've had a cop not show up were when I got multiple continuances and I guess the cop got tired of coming to court, and when another one moved out of state

I got stopped out in the middle of no where West Texas because the trooper didn't see my seat belt. I told him I always wore my seat belt and he just couldn't see it. He questioned me about what I was doing out there and let me go. I was surprised because I thought for sure he would give me one and there would be nothing I could do about it but pay it.

Go in there, plead not guilty. When the trial date come up, ask for an continuance. I'be had tickets pushed back over a year in continuances and finally the DAY just dropped it

And all she got was a seatbelt ticket? Sound like she did work to get out of a larger citation.

That happened to me once when I was 16 and I wrote an article to the paper and it got published. I was in a rollover accident in a friends car the week before so I was for damn sure wearing my seatbelt. It was such BS, i had taken my seatbelt off to have my registration ready for when the officer got to the window. The worst part is that was the entire reason he pulled me over.

File a complaint with that as the reason and you should also write the paper about this. If you do this cop will stop acting out of line and doing this BS!

I've haven't paid a ticket in years. The times I've gone to court, cops did not show up. Of course, I had to waste a half day but I got out of speeding and seatbelt tickets.
FYI, the DA in traffic doesn't take phone calls. You have to show up to talk to them.

That was like a sentence in reverse.

Yes. I had an expired inspection sticker a couple of months ago. The trooper decided to be nice and only wrote me a seat belt ticket.
Same thing happened to me the other day.

Didn't this happen in Lewzianer? It's long been a sacred cow for driving with ones head up ones arse and not being held responsible. Many drivers in this state, and undoubtably in other states as well, are fricking stupid. Still rains for 5 minutes and wrecks start occurring on the interstate.
Pass these people are they're typically puffin on pimp sticks and/or yapping on phone.

Not so fast, Holster Sniffer. The judge will hear both sides and if the violator has a good point and backs it up....it can be dismissed. Not saying that the trooper was lying, it's just that he may have made a mistake. I've seen this a few times, and yes, even in the 19th JDC.

This did happen to a friend of mine. His seatbelt was grey and he was wearing a grey golf shirt.
Since this is a probably we can probably not do anything about, maybe it would be a good idea to get some kind of cover thats bright red, orange or green to ensure contrast with her scrubs.

Correct.
Probably need to fight it but maybe a losing cause.

What was this Troopers last name? Was this Troop A? I know it's a stretch but I got a seatbelt ticket from a black LSP Troop A guy who was a fricking prick.
