I’m sorry I couldn’t make it 10 seconds through that video. Whoever produced/edited must have done so on cocaine.

Already there. Homes and businesses. Some insurers have already stopped insuring property in Louisiana.

I was wondering why those two car companies were having so many thefts lately.

The scholars stealing cars learned about this through a tik tok video a while back

If this is the case, banks will no longer lend money on those vehicles…this will render these vehicles almost worthless.

My wife has a 2019 Santa Fe

Used car market for those models just collapsed.
Looks like a lot of bait cars will be available to law enforcement and vigilantes looking to prevent assholes from stealing any more cars...

Or we could also start public hangings of thieves and I bet the problem would fix itself.

I have a 2020 Santa Fe. I installed a kill switch for $30 in parts and took about 20 minutes. It's a manual toggle that is under the dash that I can reach easily. I also have a club that I use when I park in sketchy places or anywhere in Orleans Parish.

Hyundai came out with a retrofit engine immobilizer that has to be installed by the dealer, but it costs about $400 to get it installed.

Hyundai is going to have to start installing the retrofit immobilizer for no cost as their dealers are going to be stuck with used cars that they won't be able to sell if buyers can't get them insured. And that's not even considering the negative PR.

And I just went online to Progressive and they quoted me a price, so it seems that they are still insuring in zip code 70002.

My daughter has a Kia Soul. I'm just hoping they don't raise insurance on it. It's not worth much and I'm not worried about it getting stolen where we live. But I sure don't want to pay more for it.

I’m not an insurance expert, but why would theft risk apply to liability insurance? And no, i didn’t read the article.

We were looking for a used car a few months ago for our son. I ignored any Kias and Hyundais during our search. Didn't want the headache of worrying about it getting stolen.

So State Farm is no longer providing insurance for those cars and eventually other insurance companies will probably follow suit. If you own one of those models and you are denied insurance does the state have an obligation to provide insurance?

Thugs win and hard working Kia owners lose.

I see lots of Kia’s (without Push Button start ) parked without a club/wheel lock. Do people not know their car May get stolen or just don’t care? I have so low faith in humanity I assume it will get stolen.
