The black sea fleet is a joke.
I was in The Crimea a few years ago and was able to walk within a 100 yards of their ships and subs.
The only thing between me and them was a chain link fence.
The subs looked like junk next to ours.
Try to get close to one of our subs in san diego and see how that works out.

LNG is one of the most interesting factors of the whole thing. You are right, but gas has to be really, really cheap for it to be economical to ship LNG overseas to Asia when Russia can use pipelines. They are currently building huge gas and oil pipeline infrastructure to supply Asia while we build up multimillion infrastructure to supply LNG. Going to be very interesting to see how it pans out.

It is cheap and will remain so for the foreseeable future due to advances in technology. It all goes back to political stability. You think the Europeans would rather buy from the Russian than buy from us when they know full well that Putin will use that supply as a weapon? Ask the Ukranians how that worked out. Europe's gas market is ours. Besides, Asia relies heavily on coal which is an export market that we dominate as well.
