Cinnamon's - I was there when Cinnamon, the owner, had her last dance. :pimpin:

Was that the Alligator Bayou Bar?

I also remember eating at Mecca Inn when I was a kid. It's now The Dock.

Still exists, but it's in a different spot. It's on Weber City Road just past the 4-way on the way to Gonzales

dude was a straight up beast. He didn;t have to do what he did to ole Ralph. Don't know how Ralph didn't die. He hit him with a keychain that had two sharpened allen wrench ends that stuck out between his fingers. Hit ole Ralph in the temple with that.

Spinoff: old Ascension Parish
Does anyone have any fond memories of Ascension Parish back when it was rural? The area has changed so much since Katrina. I remember when the daiquiri shop on Airline in Gonzales was a Fast Track and Bubba's was next door.

Any old patrons of the Jungle House in here?
The old drive-in movie theatre?
Putt-putt next door to McDonald's?
Prarieville being nothing but trees and swamp?
Llama farm behind the St. Amant post office?

Yep. Born here in 67 off of Roddy Rd. Moved to BR in 75 until finishing high school in 85. Moved back in the late 80's. My whole life i've spent most weekends here on Family land off of 621 at relatives houses. I own some of that family land now that I live on. I'll stay until I retire at 62 in 2029 then the wife and I are going somewhere else to live out the rest of our lives. It was good then. Not so much now but still much better than BR is and was IMO.

I never type it in here b/c although I'm very public I don't like to make it easy for search engines/crawlers.

But Peyton Manning might have an idea? Pville location.

I remember riding the bus to school and seeing Booger riding his horse back from the Riff Raff or the Cottage. Half the time he'd be slumped over the saddle passed out. The horse knew how to get him back home.

I worked at Sicily's Pizza next to Delchamps in Gonzales while still in school (mid 80s). Was working the night that guy shot the cop in the parking lot - saw him get pulled over but went back inside to answer the phone. Cop he shot was related to Coach Graves at St. Amant.

Is any of that stuff still there? Haven't been back since mid-90s.

Yes. Can't stand that place. It's too smokey to breath, too loud to hear. The entire purpose of that place is to provide an environment where cheaters and singles have no choice but to get plastered drunk, grind and f&%k because it's too dark to see who you're with too well and too loud to have a conversation.

I prefer Park Place.

Triangle D Grocery
Marchand's in Gonzales (15 cent bar-b-que hamburgers)
Lamondola's supermarket.
Cal's Backery
Gonzales High School
Pasqua Theater. Blacks entered through the back, and bought their candy through a hole in the ceiling. They had to sit in the balcony.
Sam's Sinclair Gas Station on the corner of East Ascension street.
