Spin off- are any of you 'stay at home' dads?

I know some people through a friend of mine. The guy stays at home raising their 3 year old while the wife goes out and works (she earns $50,000/year). He's supposedly trying to start his own business, but who knows. Any OT'ers stay at home dads?

Son in law was for a few years because most of the jobs offered his way were "under him". Entitled idiot.

No one on the OT would admit to this. The backlash would be as severe as asking about a drug test. Stupid but true.

Yup, this. If I married a guy who's feel good about doing things around the house while I work and we have a comfortable enough income, more power to him. But the OT would declare him a beta!
:omg:

I'm not, but my next door neighbor is. His wife makes bank in management at a chemical plant (worked her way up from engineer). He stays at home and plays with his 3 daughters all under the age of 7 (including a set of twins) and his two dogs, fishes in his private pond, and plays with his tractor all day. Seems like a happy guy.

I would love to be a SAHD. And I would be damn proud of it.

I work from home sometimes. Wife works in her office downtown. Baby girl due in less than 3 months. We trying to decide what days to hire a nanny. Will this make me a part time stay at home dad?
ETA: I still bring home all the cheese

I can sort of qualify for this.
I work from home, and my schedule is open enough so that I also do a lot of the traditional "mom" type things during the day.

I work from home and we currently have an 18 day old. Wife is considering not going back and we're ok with it.
We live in nola on the lakefront.

The OT is rarely as well behaved as people in real life. Far more judgmental as well.

I will probably be a stay at home dad temporarily when my child comes since I have the ability and my wife doesn't.

I work for myself, so I stay home at times on some days.
In fact, on my way home now to spend the rest of the day with my son.

Do you work from home or are you fortunate enough to get to be a full time Parent?

I used to work about 7-9 months of the year back in the 90's and spend much of the winter home with my kids. I also took classes at the university but was home most of the time.
And somehow I thought I could improve on that...now I'm working full time in an office.

Bet you miss those winters with your kids, huh? I don't know though, it seems like pretty hard work staying home with a baby. My job might be easier.

Loved it. Did all the parent teacher conferences, volunteered to help out in the schools.
