I'm in no way a mechanic but yeah I agree. I seriously wear tires down to their last breath bc I could give a shite less. Never had any vehicle vibrate bc of it. I do rotate on every oil change.

You should get 70,000 out of them. You must be dense.

Left the car with them. Going back now to see the wear for myself.

Post a pic, I'd like to see the wear, if it's not a mechanical issue causing the wear then BFG will pro rate them out, which brand of BFG? If you need help let me know.

What kind of car? If they're performance tires you'll only get about 25k out of them.

You probably got some mud in your tire.

Hyundai Elantra. They said it's not the wear, it's the lumps. They have me on record with 3 rotations. 6500, 12k, and 19k. 21k total miles. Said that I was supposed to rotate them every 5k and since I waited too long, there's nothing they can do except offer me a steep discount on new ones. Said I can get by with 2 back ones, front 2 are ok.

Ummmm....NO.
Tire could be out of round. Go back where you bought them. Let them deal with manufacturer. If Pep Boys MAKE them deal with them.

Cupped tires tend to cause vibrations. This is a maintenance issue and the seller has no obligation to you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

You ever had an egg in a tire?
OP, it is a warranty issue unless something mechanical is wrong with your car

Even wear, sure, but as tires wear out they can get goose eggs which I know first hand will cause extreme vibrations that feel like misalignment or a hub going out. I would raise hell if this is the case with relatively new tires that were rotated properly and I'd paid extra for just this type of thing.

Why? His tires are cupped. Unfortunately it happens sometimes when the car isn't maintained properly. It's more prevalent on SUVs but it happens on cars as well and it most certainly isn't a manufacturers warranty issue.
quote:
It happens when worn or damaged suspension components cause the tire to bounce as it travels, coming down harder on some spots of the tire than others. Bad shock absorbers are the usual cause, though anything that connects the wheel to the rest of the car could be a culprit.
Be careful with your diagnosis, though. Even tire shops sometimes incorrectly identify feathering or heel-toe wear as cupping. A wheel that is out of balance may also cause cupping or bald spots to form, though there will be fewer hills and valleys than you'd see with cupping caused by a failed shock absorber.

He said they weren't cupped, they have lumps (goose eggs) which is an entirely different issue. A suspension issue would like cause it on one tire. I would certainly have some issues with the manufacturer after 20K miles. Usually just one of these is enough to cause bad vibration, several on different tires lends to a manufacturing defect.
Edit: he also said he brought it in to have the suspension checked and they said it wasn't that, it was the tires. If I were OP I would raise hell.
