Glad you came to the OT for the awesome info I'm sure you have received about crossfit. I haven't read any responses, but I'm sure the videos of the tards doing silly shite were all good and will help you with your decision.
Half the people that respond in the crossfit threads on here are probably fatasses in case you care.
I'm not a crossfitter btw, I just respect that people do it.

Yea outlaw is pretty awesome. He uses the conjugate method like westside does. Another great program is westside for athletes which is run by armies powerlifting coach

I mean, it's excercise in a high energy situation, so it will work. Is it the most efficient thing out there? I have no idea.

Update: Tried my first Crossfit style workout this morning and it kicked my arse. Definitely need to do more of these in the future.
Will I be paying over $100 a month to join a gym. No. For one year worth of membership, I can buy most of the tools needed to do these workouts. But doing the workouts will get your arse in shape.

If you don't need/want the competitive aspect many have mentioned here to push you, then this is a good way to go. I personally love the community aspect of Crossfit, but I was also fortunate enough to get a deal where unlimited is less than $100/mo.

What was your workout?

Does physical activity with a high workload at a fast pace while being motivated by others work?
Know how I know you've never been in any gym?

Did the main site WOD from yesterday since it was easy to do at my gym
5 rounds:
1000m row
30 hip extensions
30 sit-ups
Think I'll be following Crossfit football for the next few months since it incorporates a lot of lifting.

1. It works, just like anything else that gets you moving, if you stick with it.
2. It's overhyped
3. Some of it can be dangerous, but there are plenty of exercises you can use in CF that aren't dangerous
4. It's expensive to join a gym, but you can do it at home without equipment if you want to.

Why is $$ automatically associated with crossfit?
I do it for free.
All I needed was a squat rack, and I use a TRX to sub a few things.
So many comments in this thread are just totally moronic.

And I doubt you've ever done it.

why do you waste so much energy hating on crossfit?
Posted on 3/5/14 at 1:38 pm to Lester Earl
I'm not sure what his view is 100% but I bet it's something like mine on crossfit.
- It's not any better than a regular "proven" workout
- I see no reason to pay 160+ a month for a gym
- Cult like people ruin it
- people get a sense of I'm better than you because they don't have to lift heavy and that has been the go to persona of the gym for many decades
- I'm sure I have more but can't think of any
