Someone who rides a bike explain to me the mindset when riding on a road

I passed a guy earlier, a little close and a little aggressively, to which he flipped me off. He and his 10 buddies were already taking up an entire lane, which is legal because it doubles as a bike lane, but this particular douche was wanting to ride next to two of his buddies. This means 3 across, which means he is in the other lane that's not a bike lane and in order for me to go around, I now have to pass by going into the oncoming traffic lane.
If I had a time machine, I'd go back and just hit the guy with my car.
First time I think I've ever been annoyed by bicyclists, but now I can see why people bitch about them

It has been made worse in New Orleans with all of Mitch's bike lane painting program. Traditional bicycle riders in the city knew to use all the nice side streets to get from one location to another. Now all the "road racers" and hipsters who know no better or are obstinate, ride the main avenues with its no better paving, drunks and women on cell phones.

I have no problem if a car buzzed by me. I am used to it. Plus...I stay clear out of the roadway on the farther part of the shoulder I can get.

You guys are too much.
If you're riding in a clearly marked bike lane, you assume some sort of responsibility . If you're riding a bit too close to the edge of that bike lane and a car passes you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, move further into the bike lane and learn your lesson. Quit acting like the rules of the road are equal.
