What is the "credible" evidence that he escaped? The lack of a body does not in any way suggest that he escaped because it has been testified to by those present in the bunker that Hitler gave orders for his body to be destroyed to avoid the spectacle that befell Mussolini and his mistress. That there was an attempted destruction of Goebbels' body lends further credence to this.

Also, Hitler would not have been able to escape Berlin on foot. Hanna Reitsch flew a small high wing airplane to the bunker in the final days to bring a general to make a report and to offer an escape route for Hitler to Bavaria. All present at the time including Reitsch testified that Hitler refused to leave Berlin. His last will and testament expressed his will to remain and Betlin and he referred to flight as "cowardly" and discouraged it in all the German military forces. He wanted his refusal to flee or capitulate to be an example for the current and future generations. There is no reason to believe he wasn't sincere in this.

The evidence absolutely points to suicide and destruction of his body.

One thing these crack-pot Hitler conspiracy believers fail to take into account is the physical state of Hitler in April 1945. The man was for all intents and purposes an invalid. He could barely shuffle around the bunker. At the time of his suicide in the Chancellery bunker the Soviets had already approached to within a few hundred meters of the bunker with two complete armies. There were thousands upon thousands of Soviet troops that had him and his entourage totally surrounded. The only possibility of escape (which a scant few pulled off) was to be able to move quickly and stay undetected. It was impossible for Hitler to do this under his own power so someone would have had to physically carry him on their back.

The notion someone could do this through the Soviet forces in and around Berlin and reach safety is beyond absurd. In addition to slowing them down by just his weight alone, is the fact they'd also have to make frequent stops to allow him to take the litany of drugs he had become very addicted by this point. Without those drugs, Hitler's already terrible physical state would become far worse as he began to suffer withdrawals. In fact, due to his already weakened state, it's probable the withdrawals alone would have killed him.

The bottom line is that in late April 1945. Escape for Hitler from the Fuhrerbunker was totally out of the question. He simply was physically incapable of surviving any breakout attempt. The only way he was going to come out of there alive was to surrender to the Soviets. He knew this so he chose instead to kill himself which is exactly what he did on April 30th, 1945.
