So most of my 8th grade students think cops are mostly bad and the enemy

Public school in Texas, 60% Hispanic, 25% African American, 15% White.
They are almost all against police and think all cops are out to get people and kill innocent teenagers. I explain to them that they are being fed propaganda on this and most cos are good and are here to help but they don't buy it.
This is a real problem with our society if a significant % of the population grows up assuming cops are bad

Cops nationwide should refuse to do their jobs for, oh 48 hours and see how people like it then.

Most cops are good but I still go out of my way to avoid talking to them or being around them in public.

Cultural issue. Blacks and Latinos think cops are racially motivated against them bc their culture teaches them that their races are arrested and abused more by cops, despite considering that they commit far more violent crime per capita

Meh im a white male and have never had any run ins with police. But still every time i see a cop i dont think oh good police we are safe. Thats just my mindset. Maybe in a few more years when cops wont rely on traffic stops and small drug charges they can get back to actual police work and things will change.

I always enjoy people who set themselves up for failure and then fail and wanna cry foul.
It's a shame there are rules and regulations in life and when you step outside these boundaries there are consequences.
