Yes they do. In fact, they target those areas with checkpoints. In Baton Rouge it's better to pull over a male college student. Parents are going to pay the bail and the fees, the kid isn't just going to sit in jail a couple of months and not pay a dime.

It is because most of the kids are from areas were the crime rates are high. They see criminal activity as normal when it should not be the norm.
They see their friends parents and older people in their community being arrested a lot more than you would in a middle class's area.
Reality is most of these kids come from areas where drug use or the sale of drugs is a normal way of life.
If the area these kids live is in the valley of Texas the drug trade is a huge economy in that area.

If you look nationwide there are more minority officers (African America and latino) than white officers. It is not an Ethnic issue it is a cultural along with community issue.

Good. Past generations were raised to respect the police. Many older people still treat police like heroes. There are a lot of things to be worried about with future generations, but their dislike and distrust of the police is not one of them. Once many of the baby boomers die off, you'll find that most of the people left won't be as accepting of the police's bullshite; exactly what this fricked country needs. America has a major police problem and it's good to know that these kids are already aware of it.

It really is, and I don't have a clue how we counteract this. Obviously the brutality videos going viral doesn't help, but these kids are still fed nonsense by the slime they hangout the entire time they're growing up.

Very tough to overcome that.

We just moved to a newer neighborhood. It and the city itself has a huge police presence. I love it.

You joke, but I know a HS civics teacher in a heavy Hispanic area southwest of Houston. When they were discussing the elections and primaries he told them how important it was to vote. He then asked them how many of them have parents who vote, without thinking. Two of the 27 students in his class raised their hands. Still without thinking he asked one boy if he knew his parents didn't vote or if he was unsure. The boy looked at him and said most of our parents don't have papers they can't vote.
