My grandfather would eat squirrel brains. He'd also eat the damn feet off of a chicken.

When I was a kid the thing that grossed me out that my grandfather ate were chicken feet (NOT legs) in his gumbo. I couldn't sit next to him at the table when he ate those things.

Cole Slaw isn't gross, but the volume that the elderly eat it in is disgusting

My grandma used to make me and my sisters Kraft Mac and Cheese, mixed with creamy italian dressing and olive oil, when we were younger. Of course me and my sisters thought it was nasty but my grandma would force shove it down our throats using the whole "i grew up in the great depression and we had to beg for food and would have gladly ate this" guilt trip

My mom would fix us Kraft Mac and Cheese mixed with a can of tuna. My wife thinks I am crazy when I tell her we tore that shite up.

This is an example of food that has been absolutely bastardized. I have ever eaten some insanely good hogsgead cheese, yet the crap that is sold as "hogshead cheese" at my local grocery store is absolute crap. Not good enough ought to feed to my dogs. Unfortunately i think there are plenty of these examples of food that we can't imagine why the old timers like, but it is only because the "modern" "available" version that we see to day is pure crap.

Here's another. I've tried pimento cheese a hundred times in my life. Virtually Everytime I then went on to work details why anyone would ever eat this. Just last week I was at a nice restaurant that put a small spoonful of pimento cheese on the corner of a meat and cheese platter appetizer. It was incredible. Absolutely delicious. I now know why people like and eat it. I'm just not sure how to get it. Probably will go on a mission to learn how to make what i ate.

Man that sounds awful.

Why not just put the dressing and olive oil over some lettuce tomato and cucumber and serve the mac seperate

Ate that shite until I got married. Wife thinks it stinks, so only when she's gone.

This and canned smoked oysters and club crackers.
