Slidell still is a really good town and gets way to much shite on the OT. Unfortunately for Salmen, the South side of the city (Old Spanish Trail & south) still seems to be recovering, not counting Lakeshore and that area. The north side (Fremaux & north) is doing great though and seems to be booming.

Yea, my parents live on OST and it has only had a small revitalization. Luckily they are by the nice offices and such. The spot where our restaurant used to be is just car lots and storage still.

Exactly. There has been major commercial development in the Fremaux area, in addition to the growth of the Lakeshore Estates area in the past decade. If anything, Slidell is on the upswing.

There was a shooting in the Cheddar's parking lot last year. You can build nice things but it won't change the fact that the town is trashy af.

Yeah, because 1 shooting characterizes a city. I can go about my daily life in Slidell with ZERO worries about crime, knowing that my kid is getting a better education than virtually everyone who is paying $8-10K/yr. for private school tuition.

I know this place.

HINT: The place at a ballfield where relief pitchers warm-up.

that's laughable. it's not even true for the north shore, much less "virtually everyone."

having a lot of merit finalists means you have the most asians, not the best school.

That was a good place.
