Best part was that after the city painted over it, it took less than a week for someone else to put it back up there.

I think to think that the originator of "The Dell" gets his first round free at the local watering hole for his Banksy-esque contribution to Louisiana

This. Slidell would be lucky to end up with 1 nation merit scholar. I think all of New Orleans and the north shore only had 18 last year if I remember correctly.
ETA: Yep 18

Bragging about the best school in Louisiana is akin to bragging about having the "best" STD.

Slidell is looks horrible from the outside. I hope, for the kids who grow up there, that it's not as bad as it seems.

I grew up in Slidell the 1970s and 80s and I always thought it had a small town feel to it, but even then it would never have won an award as an aesthetically beautiful town.

I had an opportunity to drive through recently. Unfortunately, parts of it now look like a shite show of poor governmental zoning and judgement. I still know some good people there, though.

This. My family has been there for years with their restaurants so I've had a few different looks over the years. Katrina really was the turning point for it. It wasn't a bad town before then.

BTW: The band is still the only think interesting about No'Sho. Go Spartans.
