Was referring to DEMOCRATS, if that clears things up.

If you are wondering about attempts to do reparations, please read up on it. I'm trying to figure out why people think that nothing happened. Sure, some missed out but the Mississippi delta was essentially carved up and handed out to former slaves.

People today don't deserve a damn thing except for the Native American tribes that have unpaid agreements.

I thought they already punished the slave owners. It was called the Civil War and Reconstruction. The debt has long been paid.

You'll never satisfy a group of people with a victim mentality. And the people feeding into it are worse.

Cajuns of Louisiana, get ready to submit your claim forms to the French government.
Why the "French government"??

The Acadians were kicked out of Canada by the British.

Wait a minute, in the article "She's one of four students currently attending the university under an admissions policy that considers the descendants of the 272 slaves "legacy" students."

So the descendants of the slaves associated with the University are considered legacy students and get admission to Georgetown?

But "No one in this room was here in 1838 when this happened," Short-Colomb said. Still, she thinks the funds could help make amends for the university's slave-holding past."

How is a free pass into Georgetown not considered making amends? That's worth a lot more than $27.

Also, my ancestors were not in the US until the early 1900's and were poor and uneducated until my dad worked his way through college and was self motivated to get an engineering degree. They certainly did not own slaves.

Very similar background for my ancestry. On my dad's side, my grandfather's parents were the first to own property, and my siblings and I were the first to become college educated.

On my mom's side, her parents were the first to be college educated and the first to own property.

I'd make a deal with them...

I'll give them $27 in exchange for them to revoke their food stamp card, section 8 housing, and free medical care.

Actually $27.20.

An Observation:

When boiling Lobsters, does one first get the water to boiling and then put in the live Lobster?

The $27.20 is an attempt to get a group into tepid water and then the temperature WILL rise.

Short of the Queen of England, everybody on the planet has a right to some reparations.

Maybe a ploy to redistribute wealth clothed in some faux moral sheep's clothing?
