re: Signs you're getting older

Here's a poem I read this morning my Uncle Penned.

THE JOYS OF YOUTH HAVE VANISHED,

THE FIRES OF YOUTH ARE OUT,

THAT WHICH ONCE WAS A MAGIC WAND

IS NOW BUT A WATER SPOUT,

Your 5 year old son encounters a telephone with a cord and asks what it is.

I can't wait, either! Unfortunately, demolition hasn't even begun. I will just be getting older waiting for it. ;-)

I might be too old to cook by the time it's done. And we're thinking no working kitchen for three months. Scary.

that was about the time we had no kitchen. a lot of eating out

You drop a reference to a tv show or a movie or a band from the past, and people have no idea what you're talking about.

There is only one sign: hating the younger generations because they aren't like you.

I'm 31 and all the years I spent in the Army, my run times have gotten slower. I went from a 30.5 minute five mile run to a 36 minute 5 miler.

the other night when i was watching the Property Brothers turn a dreary, outdated ranch-style home into a functional, contemporary masterpiece, i began to lightly trace the outline of my shaft with a couple of fingers on either side of it. then they revealed the big twist--they were able to salvage the original hardwood under the carpet and save the homeowners about $10k. i spent the rest of the night edging and thinking about how great of guys they are, because it's not every day you can do something like that for a family of 4.
