I go see them, do a medical screening exam and they have no emergent condition ( My back is still hurting and my dog ate my norco) and if a self pay tell them to GTFO.

not sure. But my wife risks her life every fricking day already. She's a home health nurse. Constantly seeing HIV patients and other BS in the north BR area. Luckily the only thing that's ever happened is getting punched in the gut by a 250lb mentally ill dude. Point is.....if she says she wouldn't see an Ebola patient, then I'm not questioning her judgement OR her dedication to helping people. Everyone has a limit

Who on earth downvoted this? Abuse and cost of the ED system would be far less if the doctors would refuse to treat non-acute conditions there. People seriously need to be trained to not present to the ED.
