fyi this isn't a government auction, its a private seller:

quote:

If you're looking for a CUCV Blazer this is an awesome example and I doubt you'll find a nicer running and driving one than this. It has absolutely no mechanical faults whatsoever and it has a genuine 51,760 miles on it and runs and drives like a new truck. It's had thousands spent on it and brand new parts include: Brand new tires. New twin exhausts. new heavy duty batteries. New brakes all around. New shocks. New alternator. New glow plugs. New factory glow plug module. New cabin carpet. New dash. The list goes on. The truck has one 12 ft military AS-3900 radio antenna and an as-3900 mount on the opposite side. It has a brand new military pintle hitch on the back and a mock military field phone on the dash. As you can see in the pictures the body has NO rust whatsoever. it is totally rust free apart from maybe some surface bits in 2 places where the paint was gone. and the underside has surface rust on most things and nothing much more serious than that. The front passenger wheel well plate has a rust hole. but these are replaceable and are only about $60 on eBay. The transmission shifts perfectly and this truck will run at 75 mph on the highway no trouble. it really drives perfectly. It's always been serviced every 4000 miles and it's just had a full oil and filter change. There will be nothing to do on this truck for years I guarantee it. The 4x4 works great. it has manually locking front hubs. It will pull a barn down it's so powerful. The interior is nice as well. the driver's seat is a bit worn but the other seats look like New and the carpet is all brand new. The tailgate window rolls up and down great and has the military winder. It has a full sized military spare wheel and tire also. I have a brand new Military CUCV tow strap i'll throw in with the deal too. The only thing that could be better on the truck is the paint. It looks great from a distance but get right up close and it needs finishing here and there. I was doing it as a winter project and it's very close to being finished. it will literally take a day probably and i'm including all the military grade paint to go with it. so you can finish it. $200 worth of paint easily. And obviously the passenger fender is dinged. but it will come out. or a new one is $80. This is a super low mileage truck that runs flawlessly and is in excellent condition inside and out. Email me with questions. I've tried to explain everything as best as I can.

seller added the following information:JUST TO ADD. THIS TRUCK HAS AN ORIGINAL SOLAR PANEL ON THE HOOD THAT WAS ADDED BY THE MILITARY TO TRICKLE CHARGE THE BATTERIES ALL THE TIME. AND IT WORKS GREAT.

In no way am I looking to swoop in, but just out of curiosity, how much is he asking for the little bit of rust, tiny rust hole, worn driver's seat, dented fender, and slightly worn paint job?

Everything runs flawlessly until it breaks. Injectors are pretty expensive, so I'd definitely ask

Asking price is $1225. He could drive it for years and sell it for more than that. It has depreciated all it is going to.

It is located a long way from me. You?

If he does not want it you should buy it for you. It is pretty awesome for an additional vehicle.

You should spend a few days getting the rust off the frame and frame parts and paint the frame. Also, a little grease goes a long way. A few dollars for hardware to re-attach the brake line holders, Fluid and filter changes and undercarriage paint all comes to less than a hundred bucks.

Does anyone know if the U joints on those have a zirc fitting?

For $1225 I'd already be on the way to buy it. Hell it'll part out for at least twice that.

maintenance is simple on those and if he likes that truck then he is probably the type to DIY work on cars and that would be a good truck for that.

Let him buy it. That would be a very cool high school ride. He'll buy something else once he starts college and finds out how much driving a big old 4x4 sucks
