There was a shooting at the fairway view apartments 2 or 3 days ago. That's about 2 blocks from there.

It is an irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts; where everybody regardless of race, creed, color or degree of inebriation is welcomed.

Some are confused on here. IHOP is in Walmart parking lot where a shooting occured last year. Waffle House across from Wendy's by Corporate. Had car stolen and broken into at Fairway View in early 90's . Bawell gonna Bawell.

By the way miss Faiway View Club. Best burger and gumbo .

Is that the one that was a fight between roommates, and the police aren't charging the shooter 'cause they believe it was self-defense? LINK

right in the middle of college drive? not really.

lets say the shooting was at Gino's restaurant. You would probably be saying the complete opposite even though its about 500 feet across the street.

We are talking about the Waffle House directly across the street from Valley right? If so, then yes I'm not surprised.

But a shooting near Gino's wouldn't surprise me either. Not a far walk for the classy and completely sober crowd from the Gold Club (or whatever it's called now) to make.

And let's be honest, crime in Baton Rouge is not exactly at its lowest rate, so at this point there are few locations in the city where it would surprise me.

All that being said, I can't wait to come into BR for Christmas and drunkenly going to that Waffle House for an All Star breakfast with hashbrowns.

Evidence left on the scene points to the suspect(s) are Saints fan(s).

Given its location, not surprised.

WTF are you talking about? this is in midcity, surrounded by some high dollar real estate save for the Valley.

I was actually sitting in traffic right next to WH when the cops/EMS were responding. All looked fine as I passed, but I guess not.

Then let's see where she was shot and then we can judge on how dangerous the Valley is. While it is a pocket of crap, it is really not that dangerous. I live and work very close to it and we have few problems that originate from the Valley.

I would agree that there aren't a lot of problems that stem from valley into the nicer neighborhoods around it, a good friend of mine grew up near Webb and it seems like a good area. But am I necessarily surprised that there was a shooting (supposedly) near Valley? No.

Valley park? It's hood but definitely not NBR hood. Last time I looked at a murder map, they didn't have any in valley park.

Yeah I have to agree with you on this one. It's far from being a nice area but it's not even close to the level of NBR.

So you're bearish on the valley?

It's the same as it ever was for the past 25 years. Stop with the drama.

The apartments (Fairway View) haven't been nice since mid 90's or so.
