I have both and the doctor didn't prescribe any pain killers just penicillin and said to take ibuprofen but going on day 3 the ibuprofen hasn't done jackshit for pain relief. Help would be much appreciated!

You can't use that numbing spray?

Or possibly your anal ease might work if you put it on your boyfriends penis baw.

Theraflu with honey.

You could ask for cheratussin and not sound too much like a junkie. But gone are the days of Vicodin for strep throat or tussionex. Which kind of sucks. Cause that shite hurts.

Gargle with saltwater. Also allow an aspirin to melt directly on the sore area of your throat.

Tylenol. Seriously.

Use it in addition to Advil or Aleve.

You don't get prescription painkillers for mono and strep throat. Suck it up and stop kissing skanks.

Mono seems to be making its way around the OT.

Thank all the junkies for that one.

And yeah, it does suck. I remember getting Phenergan/codeine syrup last time I had strep. That stuff was a lifesaver when it felt like I was drinking water with rusty razor blades every time I swallowed.

Tylenol
Ibuprofen
Both max dose on the bottle.
+gargle warm saltwater
+chloraseptic spray

Also, it's highly unlikely that you've got mono and strep pharyngitis together.

Also, also, even if you do, it's OK to have pain. You don't need prescription painkillers for this.

Mix the throat numbing spray with something like malox or something that coats your throat.

It doesn't taste good, but mix a table spoon of raw local honey, a 1/2 teaspoon of garlic paste and a healthy shake of cayenne pepper, warm it for about 15-20 seconds, hold your nose and take it by the spoonful.
it is gross, but you'll heal faster and hurt a lot less.

Also hot tea with lemon and honey was very soothing on my throat as well.

And lots of ice cream.
