At this point, probably nothing short of conclusive proof. Here's my point - we are supposedly thousands of years more advanced than the Egyptians, yet we cannot yet figure out how they built a pyramid with the technology they had. Doesn't that mean something to you? Are we that stupid? No. The fact that our greatest minds cannot figure it out pretty well rules out everything but outside help.
There are other ancient "mysteries" that are likewise the same.

In 2015, there should not be "plenty of theories" - there should be one generally accepted true theory. Unless they were helped by ancient aliens, it should be a no brainer, a simple task, for modern experts to figure out how an ancient culture built pyramids. They can't, so ... I don't understand why people don't joyously embrace the ancient alien theories. The existence of space explorers is magnificent, not scary.

I think for the most part my immediate family believed him. For being a doctor and graduate from LSU med school, he certainly came across as credible and convincing.
I remember being a kid and my dad would ever so often tell me a new documentary was airing with Jesse being interviewed. We would always watch together.
