Taking a trip to Seattle in late September for 4 or 5 days. I want to probably mostly do outdoors activites (day hiking, fishing, kayaking, probably no camping). I do want to do one day in the city as well, though.

In the brief amount of research I've done I've come up with Snoqualmie falls
Pike Place Market
Day Hike on one of the trails in Mt Rainier national park (taking recommendations on which trail)

Any suggestions or can't miss activities to do in September in Seattle area?

TIA

It is pretty neat. I did a day trip hitting up Jimi Hendrix grave, then snoqualmie, then went to Chateau St Michelle, Columbia Winery, and Red Hook Brewery

Olympic and/or North Cascades N.P.

North Cascades reminds me of Alaska, and has relatively few visitors.

If you miss Pikes Place, you will not miss much. The Museum of Flight is pretty cool.

I meant to look up what cool breweries were in Seattle. Great suggestion.

If you're gonna head that way and like a hike do Mt. Si preferably on a weekday.

The North Cascades National Park Service Complex preserves some of the finest mountain country in North America—a hiker’s smorgasbord. From accessible trails and short, scenic strolls to steep, grueling hikes that will make your legs burn but your heart sing, there is a trail here that will suit your mood. The extreme gradients of climate and topography contribute to an impressive diversity of habitat and species. To navigate the incredibly steep elevational relief, the nearly 400 miles of trails often follow the long, forested, valley bottoms, then switchback up to the steep passes or ridges. Over 300 glaciers cling to the spires, peaks, horns and ridges of the surrounding mountains, and more than 127 alpine lakes lie in glacial cirque basins below. The valleys are narrow, deep, and U-shaped, covered on the lower reaches with dense stands of old trees and layers of green undergrowth.

Day trip to Victoria BC isn't bad either. Wife would probably like the gardens.

If you're into beer, try the Taphouse in either Bellevue or Seattle if you don't make it to the Red Hook.

The Microsoft corporate campus in Redmond is impressive if you have not seen it before. It is larger than many major college campuses.

I just moved to Seattle in March. I'm really liking it.

I would check out Golden Gardens, it's a very nice beach. Go to Ballard, hit up some microbrews, then catch the sunset at Golden Gardens. As far as hiking, there's so many options that you should have no trouble finding a nice place.

The Mariners have a homestand against the Astros in late September. I love going to the games and tickets can be had for cheap, especially against a team like the Astros. The Seahawks also play the Bears on Sunday, Sept 27.

Check this link out for some more fun stuff to do around here: LINK /

Also, in my view Bellevue is not a place to go out of your way to visit. Plenty of good beer in Seattle and Bellevue is about as bougie as places get. Red Hook is pretty cool but the Microsoft campus isn't anything worth going out of your way to look at. I work in Redmond- I would only suggest visiting Red Hook if you make it on this side.

The San Juan Islands are great for outdoor activities. A 30-45 minute ferry ride from the city

The huge REI store is worth a visit if you're into outdoor stuff. There's a big independent bookstore with all kinds of obscure titles near Pike Place Market. I forget the name, but it's pretty neat. The UW campus is picturesque. As others have said, North Cascades or Olympic. Whale watching, or sea kayaking on Puget Sound. There are quite a few wineries around the area.
