Let me ask you this, how much is happiness worth to you?
And seriously, what's your net household income? We'll need a rough estimate before this free consultation continues.

quote:From the Peoples Temple wikipedia page:
Also, why did the government start investigating Jim Jones?
quote:
The Temple aroused police suspicion after Jones praised the radical Bay Area group the Symbionese Liberation Army and its leaders attended San Francisco Temple meetings. Further suspicions were raised after the defection of Joyce Shaw and the death soon after of her husband, Bob Houston. After tension rose between the Temple and the Nation of Islam in San Francisco, the group held a large "spiritual" jubilee in the Los Angeles convention center attended by thousands, including prominent political figures, to heal the rift.
While the Temple forged media alliances, the move to San Francisco also opened the group to San Francisco media scrutiny. After Jones and hundreds of Temple members fled to Guyana following media investigations, Mayor Moscone issued a press release stating the Mayor's office would not investigate the Temple. During this time, Harvey Milk spoke at Peoples Temple political rallies and wrote a letter to President Jimmy Carter after the investigations began, praising Jones and stating that the leader of those attempting to extricate relatives from Jonestown was telling "bold-faced lies".
Also interesting, given that Harvey Milk was a vocal supporter or Jones:
quote:
Jones himself maintained that he was strictly heterosexual, yet he sodomised a male member on the grounds that he was ‘proving’ the man’s homosexuality. Interestingly Jones was actually arrested for importuning in a known gay cruising ground, although he managed to keep the offence under wraps. LINK
Fun fact: they drank grape Flavor Aid, not Kool-Aid.

Do people in this thread really believe that LucasP is a scientologist? Most Scientologists aren't even allowed to use the internet.

But let me ask you this, how many times per day do you cry because you've disappointed your father?
Come on man. You are better than that. That is WAY TOO obvious. You have to write a longer paragraph and sneak the freudian stuff in the body without making it such a confrontational question. Its too obvious in your format.
Just to amuse you... I have made my father (and mother) proud and we have a great relationship. I have never been depressed or had anxiety, never regretted past decisions, and have no relationships that I regret. I look forward to running in to old friends and girlfriends because I always ended relationships in a mature manner. I am far from perfect but I admit to my shortcomings and mistakes and work hard to make sure I don't repeat them and don't hurt others further.
So how much is scientology gonna charge me and what area do I need improving?

Let me ask you this, do you ever get tired of being sad all the time?
Is this an audit question? Seems this question is designed to make a person feel uncomfortable, or to doubt whether they are sad or not.

Wow, what a terrific and insightful response. I can tell from your level of intellect that you don't get fooled by much and you're a very intuitive person.
But let me ask you this, have you ever wanted to help others reach your level of insight? How often do you feel sad because of all the gullible people in your life that you couldn't help?
Also your net household income, just for research purposes.

Let me ask you, Does my lack of proper capitalization make you feel uncomfortable? How often will you think about it? How much will it cost to help me learn when to use capital letters?
