A few people on the Reddit thread would call them back and hang up 40-50 times in a row. They say eventually they will block your number. I tried that earlier. Either it's going to work or they are going to give my number to every spam call center in Mumbai.

I get telemarketers calling and text spam all time.

About a month ago, I counted one day on particularly busy day of getting these.

42. I got 42 spam calls between 8-5pm that day.

My work cell gets 25-30 calls a day. My personal has a robokiller on it, so I get maybe 1 or 2. It's absolutely insane.

Tax Season.

The slime will ooze back under the rocks once the mass refund season ends. Till then they're just fishing the visible feeder spawn.

Get used to it to happen every year Jan-May.

For those receiving multiple daily calls from a "Main Street Financial" regarding debt consolidation from (855) area code number or other numbers. THIS IS NOT OUR FIRM. We wholeheartedly detest the abuse of telecommunications and are working to stop these calls as well.

WHY is there not a way to block AREA CODES?

Not phone spam but same animals, when I caught a hacker trying to hack my OL bank account, I talked to my bank & the manager said that they were getting 5-6 calls a week from customers re hack attempts. And she added that they knew many more were too embarrassed to admit they had been scammed.

I get probably 50 calls per day selling Medicare supplement insurance and vehicle warranties.
I'm not even on Medicare yet.

Always always always use Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) with -all-financial accounts. It's not infallable, but it's better than a plain password. Ask your bank about it and if they don't support it, move all your accounts.

I silenced all calls that aren't in my contacts list several months ago

Tried this but too many clients & co-workers would rather bitch about how they can't get in touch with me instead of leaving a voicemail or sending a text or email

I did this too, but I've had 8(attempted) calls today.

Get RoboKiller. I have it on my phone and it has cut down considerably the spam I get. When they spoof numbers, you can also add the group of numbers to a block list. Say you get a lot a spoofed calls from (601) 890-XXXX. But you do not get any calls from there normally. You can set it to block all calls from (601) 890-XXXX

I still have a land line for some reason. For about two years, I was getting like 30 calls a day from these generic sounding health care names. Every message was like "This is Lisa from Health Care Benefits." Somehow, it finally slowed down the last few months. I didn't understand what they were fishing for.
