GrammarKnotsi,
I'm sure Russian radar jamming technology is something of concern and any aircraft with a tail is susceptible to advanced VHF radar detection. Including Russian/Chinese airframes. But the US has advanced radar jamming as well. meaning aircraft on both sides would have to switch to infrared or wait for "burn-through" (if that term even means anything anymore). I have not seen any infrared stealthy airframes from Russia or China.
A war with Russia would not be like Iraq or Afghan. It will be much more violent and bloody.
My point in showing our new capabilities is to address the alarmists out there that think Putin is capable of dancing under the Eifel Tower whenever he wants.

The Air Force officials all said that some of the American missiles would get through during a fight—there is no question of that—but it would take a lot more weapons than anyone ever expected. The problem is that fighter aircraft don’t carry that many missiles.
quote:
That means that if a fighter has to fire—for instance—three missiles to kill a single enemy fighter, the Pentagon is facing a serious problem.
“Getting a first shot is one thing,” said a former Air Force fighter pilot with extensive experience with Russian weapons. “Needing another shot when you have expended your load is another when your force structure is limited in terms of the number of platforms available for a given operation.”

if they were fighting off an invasion not its not
but going on the offensive vs a military with just as much or more training, actual combat experience and better equipment is not exactly smart.

I get the point you are getting at...You're just missing the point that Russia has been doing this shite since before we were even a Country..

Like the other poster said, I don't see China jumping in to help them esp now they will owe Russia a ton of money and probably won't pay it.

So, not only are they increasing their military spending to levels unseen since the collapse of the Soviet Union, they've also developed a complete line of modern mechanized fighting vehicles. Europe & the US better pull their heads out of their asses or the nightmare we dreaded in the 80's, a Soviet invasion of central Europe, could be a real threat within the next decade.
The U.S. spends way more than they do on our military, does that mean we are planning to invade other countries? Oh wait.......

That whole throwing wave after wave of conscripts isn't a very good tactic on their part.

an army full of people who don't ethnically or culturally relate to the capital could be a disaster.
Their population is going down esp among males who's death rates are through to the roof. No wonder so many hot russian womenz are single.
They had to open immigration to all former soviet block countries to raise the population

Very untrue, especially if you're talking about a conventional land war in Europe. Tanks and AFVs may be of limited used in low intensity unconventional counterinsurgency wars like Afganistan and Iraq, but they are still piviotal in a conventional war. And that's what type of war it would be if we ever faced Russia.

A few points of clarification are needed here.
First, that T-14 shown in the OP is a very advance tank. It is the first tank in the world with a completely automated turret. They are also going to produce a AFV and self-propelled howitzer based on the same design, which makes production and maintenance simpler. A conventional ground war would not be slam-dunk against Russia.
Second, Russian aircraft are good, the Su-30 and Su-35 are comparable to our F-15's and the new Sukhoi T-50 PAK-FA is comparable to our F-22's.
As concerns the navies, Russia has for the last 70 years or so, employed a strategy of sea denial, hence their emphasis on subs, and the newest subs are very good. They could easily put a few of our carriers on the bottom.
Finally, and most importantly, all this foolish chest-pounding by a few of you betrays your own ignorance. Any war with Russia would be a disaster, as it could potentially escalate rapidly into an exchange of ICBM's and then instead of having New York, Chicago, L.A., etc, we instead will have a bunch of smoking radioactive piles of rubble. Not good.

You really think their newest tank will compete with ours? Their newest is still years behind us.
Wrong. There is a lot of consternation about this where I work.
