Didn't she steal something from Beyonce as well, or was it the other way around?

i didnt really know who he was either. the first time i saw the voice i asked someone what songs he sang.

How do you retards NOT know he's the voice in Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"? He went on stage with them and all to get at least one Grammy.
Between that and "Happy", if you haven't heard his voice, you just tryin to hide from music in last 2 years.

So he's a producer?

He's produced for Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, P. Diddy, Beyonce, Britney Spears. His resume speaks for itself.

Better producer than artist, and he's a damn good artist. You've no doubt heard his music unless you don't own a TV.

Would you agree that if a song was "Record of the year" that you might hear it somewhere from an LSU tailgate to a bar or Dr's office even if you don't like pop music?

The most classic case was Vanilla Ice stealing Bowie/Mercury's Under Pressure.

John Fogerty was sued for plagiarizing himself back in the day. He won though when he played the two songs in question for the jury showing how both songs he had written were different. It really can't get more ridiculous than that.

I find this hard to believe. My 91 year old grandfather has heard the song.

I listened to both songs just to judge for myself. EXACT same music. Guilty
not even close.

Uses the same instrument in the background but doesn't use the tempo.

Bro, do you even measure fair use?
The four factors judges consider are:

1. the purpose and character of your use.
The purpose of the use was to make money off of a song.

2. the nature of the copyrighted work.
Marvin Gayes song was already a published piece of work

3. the amount and substantiality of the portion taken
He sampled the hook but didn't sample the words.

4. the effect of the use upon the potential market.
Pharell made Millions off this song.

I'd say this decision was fair.

Dude is one of the biggest writers/producers in the music industry. Had a hand in creating most of the top hits the last couple years
