I don't think those with fibro have joint swelling.
Also as a side note: when I first started Enbrel, I had my doctor drain my knees. It took the pressure off sooner, and my body didn't need to reduce the swelling on its own. Really helped with the pain.

We would never expose our baby or children to it. That would be beyond stupid and irresponsible. We are waiting until all that ends.

I don't notice any joint swelling. But I just stood up from my desk and was slkungblike a 90 man. Sliding my feet.

It sounds like you may be suffering from fibromyalgia

I have both RA and OA. Started with Methotreaxate pills but I didn't like the nausea. Enbril worked for several years but then switched to Humira and it worked very well. About three months ago I switched to Methotraxate injections(no nausea) this seems to be working well and it's cheap!!! If you can fill a syringe and give yourself an injection might want to check it out.
I take prednisone and naproxen as needed for the OA.
Good luck.

Wife has RA and uses Mobic and Voltaren (a creme which contains Mobic. Good stuff btw, use it on my back before I play golf)and some other pills. I have great insurance for now...$5-$10 copay
Her RA will flare up in her hands and feet and they actually give off heat that you can feel. She can be cranky/argumentative when it flares up, but what can you do, there is no cure. She told me that's the bad thing, most of these drugs are temporary.
I know that she is still pissed when Vioxx was banned. Personal Injury lawyers jumped at some easy money on a widely prescribed drug that worked for those that have RA. To this day, she has a less than "Whale shite" opinion of lawyers.
"They took their cut and couldn't give a damn about anyone else". "The Bar is nothing more than charlatans, whores and idiots".
Like I said she can get "cranky".

Dr. Nitsche is the best around. You are in good hands.

Didn't think I could either. I take Enbrel. When the difference is giving yourself a shot in the thigh and debilitating pain, I guarantee you could do it.
The shots don't hurt, but sometimes, the med burns. I ice down my thigh a bit and then use the Enbrel click shot and it's over in seconds. Barely feel more than a little pinch if I feel that. Nothing to it at all. It was awkward at first, but after one or two injections, it was a breeze.

That prednisone is bad mojo for your bones, not that RA and OA aren't bad enough.
Posted on 10/16/17 at 7:55 pm to Gris Gris
My conspiracy mind says why cure this disease when we can just milk these infected for the rest of their life. RA sufferers will do damn anything for relief.

Prednisone doesn't even give me relief anymore
Posted on 10/17/17 at 8:19 am to Dale Doubak
Maybe not, but try to quit prednisone cold turkey and you will regret it. Your body becomes dependent on it. You need to wean off. I took it for 9 months and put on about 30 lbs. I was taking 10mg a day.

shite I'm only 40
Only 34 here and I’ve had (very slight) problems with it. Took Enbril for about a year and that helped a lot - like all of my problems disappeared; but get you insurance in line first because that shite could bankrupt a small family (over $4k a month when it first came out).
