Had dogs my whole childhood(Labs, Goldens & a Boxer). Wife had a shi-tzu until about 5 years ago. This is the first I purchase myself. We pick up our new little guy on Friday. Looking for any info or point in a direction for:
Food/where to get it
Training
Supplies
Any general info that might be a lil deeper search than a “dogs for dummies” search
Anything that seems useful in the OT’s wealth of knowledge

First thing, be prepared for comments like “ask your boyfriend”, followed by “you’ve come to the right place”.

Wal Mart
buy a book - what do you want to do with this dog? Hunt or just have it sit and come?

I feed my dogs Purina One chicken & rice from Wal-Mart. They love it. When my female dog was a puppy, she was my only dog and I was working at Pet-Smart. I must've bought her 30 different small bags of food. I would spend the bulk of my check at my work.

I bought a dog, I’m not asking “what to do about Jody?”

What kind of dog? Get a crate big enough for him to stand up and turn around in and get him crate trained asap. Dog’s don’t like shitting where they sleep. This helps a ton with potty training.

Get enough chew toys and his own basket in the living room to put them in. They learn quick where “their” basket is and will save your shoes or any other things lying around.

Wheaten Terrier. They’re about 45-50lbs. The breeder has already started early crate training. It’s first on our list

- Chewy.com for toys, food, supplies
- Purina Pro Plan is the food you should get
- if the dog pulls on leash, get a Herman Sprenger prong collar

Beat the shite out of it while it's still a puppy to assert lifelong dominance.

Dogs and Jody are the same. Always in heat and do stuff when you aren’t home.

Soft-haired Wheaton Terrier.

Get your money back and shop for a different dog.

Don’t know if you have a Tractor Supply store near you, but their 4Health line of dog food is all I ever fed my schnauzers that I had for 14 years. Never had a health issue with any of them. No skin or coat issues and the vet always said their weights were great and in perfect health. Only table food I ever let them have was grilled chicken, beef and egg for their coat.
