I have clients from around the country asking for places to donate. Looking for options other than Red Cross. Any suggestions?

Having worked numerous disasters in Texas, I can say this. The Salvation Army gives the best bang for your donation dollars. frick the Red Cross!

I was hoping for something local. Trying not to be a dick and asking for Walmart gift cards to give local families that I know pretty much lost everything but honestly that’s what I’d love to request. So many people could use that extra $100 right now. Churches would probably be my next request as long as they are known for helping the community.

Samaritan’s Purse

They are staged at our church parking lot in Schriever. Anyone that wants a tarp on their house, or trees/branches cut, just register with them and they will come do it for free.

First Baptist Church Houma. I know first hand that they give 100% of funds to whoever needs it. We are doing the work ourselves.

Agreed. God bless the Salvation Army—they are an amazing group. 100% of your donation will go strictly to Hurricane Ida relief efforts.

Salvation Army

There’s a poster here alphaandomega who posted a link to an org he works with. They’re serving meals in prairieville since I think Tuesday. Here to Serve I think is the name. I personally donated to them. They came from Alabama and helped with Laura in LC as well.

EDit .. here is the link for Here to Serve:
Here to Serve

The poster never asked for donations and only provided the link once we asked.
