Was having this discussion with a co-worker about being a kid and remembering just throwing everything out of the window and it not being looked down upon. I remember driving home and parents throwing coke bottles out of the window after finished and even McDonalds bags full of trash. When did this all of a sudden become such a big no-no?

I grew up in the Piney woods of East Texas and as a small kid I remember my dad hurling empties out the window on the interstate on the reg. This was before the "don't mess wiht Texas campaign " and all the fines

Trust me, I don't litter now at all, but was just laughing remembering growing up people I was always around did and it didn't seem like a big deal. Did they always have litter laws or write tickets for littering or did that all start after the 80s?
