Our annual inspection to keep it under contract is $147.

That is NOT for a treatment which is every 10 years and is about $600.

We use Arceneaux Pest Control.

The bigger question for me is have any of you had to file a claim for damage that occurred under contract? I've known three different people who have and in each of those cases, the homeowner had to sue to get the termite company to perform.

Just curious if anyone else has had similar negative-- or positive-- experiences.

Yep..mine is $96 with them. Every 5 yrs they do a complete treatment inside and out for 400 which includes insurance. I don't think I'll do that part this time however and not worry about the insurance...my experience in the past with other termite companies is that they will try to find an out to not pay for damages..(ie. it was ants, etc. and not termites that damaged your wood.)

Yep. My uncle had like $40-50k of damage a few years ago and they tried the same bullshite with him. Once he got the lawyers involved, he finally got them to pay up, but I know my uncle still came out of pocket a good bit in the end.

Mine was right at $177 myself for my rental home near Memphis. Sounds about right IMO.

Unless the termite company did the pretreatment before the slab was poured and complete treatment when the house was finished, you are wasting money on a damage contract. There is no way to tell if termite damage is a few months old or a few years old. Termite companies will win that case 9 times out of 10. Sentricon isn't more effective than a liquid treatment such as Termidor, it's used more in situations where liquid treatments aren't possible such as very small crawl spaces that's aren't accessible.

Just got 2 estimates in Mandeville. Both pushing Sentricon Baiting but offer chemical.

Chemical was about $500 for either quotes and $150 a year for 4 additional years. Not sure what the damage policy is with the chemical quotes.

Baiting was $950 with $225 a year but don't have to respray like the chemical as long as I keep the yearly maintenance. Comes with a $250,000 damage policy.

Seriously? We use Arrow and pay $68.75 every three months for the termite contract and pay those frickers $85 every three months for pest control. Guess the price varies by region and all.

I pay $135 but that is just the inspection. If they have to get in there, its extra.

I use The Bug Man, they installed the Sentricon system a few years ago. They come and inspect every 6 months. Cost me $150/inspection

That's good. I paid $340 up front, and then $165 every six months. To do yard, house and redo traps. The company I use was started by a guy who retired from Terminex then got tired of being retired.

He did a lot of work for the initial amount and my garage has more linear exterior feet than my house and he did both.
