Just got renewal bill and it was $177. Didn't know if that was high, low, or in the middle. Thoughts. They do an inspection and theoretically if anything needs to be addressed then they take care of it.

Yeah. $177 is just the inspection I'm thinking, and/or certificate.

Probably regional.

Seems like a good price if that is for something like termidor treatment. Assuming that is a repair bond and not just for reapplication? At 8-10 years you will need to pay for a complete reapplication.

All the big companies are pushing the Sentricon systems and they easily run 300-400 a year for the bait systems.

Out where we live I have just been shopping around.

Termidor treatment good for 8-10 years runs about 600 for initial treatment and includes first year inspection.

After that it is about 100 for retreatment plans with inspection. If you want an actual repair bond that pushes the price closer to 200 a year.

The big companies push Sentricon systems and charge prices all over the map for installing, and 300-400 a year for maintenance.

I have not found any hard proof that the Sentricon system is superior except for making the company more money.

I chose Sentrcon because my research indicated it was the best system even if it cost 100 bucks more per year. It definitely had more " damage insurance protection" as I have up to 50K in repairs if termites are found. Not sure the traditional method covered half that.

NOLA area...

The first year was $525. Renewals are $149 per year, and I get four renewals before I have to pay full price for a year, then four new renewals, etc.

I pay $195.00 annually for Cotton's Pest Control (1 x treatment). I have been with Cotton's since my house was built, which was 9 years ago.

Get a bottle of Bifen (generic Talstar) for $20 bucks and a sprayer. Go around the house and any places you see activity. Safe to use indoors as well.
Same shite the pros use.

ETA: Bifen

Mine is $300 a year with Terminix. They have the best plan/warranty in the industry. My home is too expensive to replace out of pocket.

That is dependent on each company, you just have to pay extra for the repair bond. Did you mean 500k? Shopping around here repair bonds usually cover between 100-300k per incident.

That sounds about right. There are three different types of treatments.
The first they trench around the house and will be triple that amount.
The yearly treatments are that amount and they spray on the ground.
Every I think 5 years they do extra. Like drill holes in your back porch and treat in the holes. That will be a little more.

Unfortunately that's actually an accurate number for this discussion.
