a few years back there was a bull rider/race car driver named Dick Trickle...

I used to giggle like a first grader every time I heard that...

Good one.

I can add that I had a college roommate from Vietnam named "Long Phuc Nguyen", pronounced "Long frick, Win". But I can't verify the claim. FWIW he was very self-conscious of how it sounded which was unfortunate.

It's painful to hear the la-a and lemongelo/orangelo story.

The degree of certainty that people tell it is hilarious. I swear my friend's aunt worked at hospital xyz and she had a patient etc etc

I was doing PT at Delgado and one of the girls I worked with was named Pajama but pronounced "Pa ha ma". Another one was named La-a but literally pronounced it "Ladasha"

The real story: you were doing PT when you heard from someone there with you (who in turn heard it from someone else) about how they worked with a La-a and cut them out of it for story telling's sake

On LinkedIn, I've seen suggested contacts (changing first name for their privacy) Jane Poon and Joe Tang. So if they married, would she go by Jane Poon Tang?

I attended Brame Jr high inn the late 80s in Alex. Had a teacher named Mrs. Dick. Her husband was named Harry, I'm not kidding.

There was a guy who graduated high school in probably 96 or so from a school in the Laffy area (nish maybe?) named Ishuia ( or Ishua) Credit. As in issue a credit.

My MIL had a second grader in her class years ago named Semi Cole. It was even more unfortunate bc he was of mixed race.

I was in a McDonalds a few years back and noticed the name tag of the young black girl taking my order; "Corinthians". She cut me with her eyes when I axed if she was first or second Corinthians.

Dr. Howie Feltersnach and Dr. Harry Peretestes are my favorites. Sadly, not real.
