Here's some facts about Livestrong, the Lance Armstrong Foundation LINK
You can look at their tax returns on that link.
Here's their last 990 that's available LINK
The balance sheet is most intersting. $46.8M in revenue, however they only paid out $5.1M in grants and cancer research related activities.
They did however have a payroll of over $7 Million and millions upon millions of generic fees and expenses such as $1.5M for travel, $1.9M office expense, $4M of other, $1.8M of IT, $3.2M for advertising, another $2.5 for public awareness (more advertising).
Here's another thing to realize, Livestrong has raised over $500M in cash donations, yet at the beginning of year they only had $25M in cash and $42M in investment assets and a total of almost $100M in assets, yet only donate $5M a year to cancer research. So 5% of their kitty only goes to their intended purpose of cancer research.
They're in the business of being in business as a non-profit pulling in tons of donations and using personal tragedy and normal human dumb countness as a revenue driver.
