That reminds me of a tldr gym contract nightmare. Fitness factory in Plano cornholed me good. They were bought by 24 HR fitness as I planned to move to Mockingbird station(200 ft from a 24 HR fitness). Well that was not a corporate location and couldn't transfer membership. The kicker was I moved 23 miles away from old gym, 2 miles below the 25 miles required to terminate contract. $600+ arse plowing. Grrrr still 15 yrs later.

this is why you should always set up gym memberships to be paid automatically from your bank account. If you have any issues...you can just go to your bank have the payments stopped.

I figured to avoid this place, between it being new and its low membership fees, it seemed like it was going to be one giant cluster frick

Obviously you don't know much about PF. They have a member pizza party every month. They did remove all their squat racks (only smith machines left). There's a legit "lunk alarm". You can get asked to leave for slamming weights or not being peaceful enough. I've even seen where some fit women have been asked to leave of change because they were revealing too much and it was intimidating to the chunky womenz. Place is a dump

I signed up for LA Fitness 2 months ago. The place seems nice and everything was new. Since then Ive been noticing that all the equipment is covered in old sweat. I use the same treadmill everyday which is right next to another treadmill that had an old napkin stuffed in the cup holder. Usually I would have thrown it away but i wanted to see how long it would stay there. Lol...3 weeks! No wonder why nobody cleans after themselves bc they have thin little napkins and a push button sanitizer. The sales people all sit at their desks and try to one up each other with drinking their (milk jug) gallons of water. Service sucks! More than anything i hate having to give the front desk people my keys to check me in after theyve been chomping down on cheez-its!

Uh welcome to every LA Fitness ever.

You are complaining about service at a cheap gym? If you want better service, pay more for a better gym. Otherwise, talk to management there or STFU. LA Fitness is one of the better "cheap" gyms IMO, so I'm ok with dealing with some people leaving sweat on machines.

That basketball gym is a joke. It is super loud, the floor is dead and the court is too small.

Why don't you just buy a $500 tread mill and some dumb bells?

Save $ in the long run.

People who are bashing PF are delusional. I go to the one on Siegen. It's the best gym I've ever been a member of. I've been to the Y, Bally, and Foxys. It beats them all. It's clean and upbeat.

I am a sucker for working out and cardio. It keeps my mind clear. I'm not fat and I stay in better shape than most.

The pizza party thing is so overblown. It's the first Monday of every month. Granted, you do see some people eating way too much but the majority of the members don't even eat it. If they do, it's one piece. I've never had any.

The lunk alarm thing is odd but I've never once seen them make somebody leave. They rarely even use it anyway.

As far as girls attire, there are plenty of girls in there who wear tight/revealing outfits and none have ever been told to leave or cover up, as far as I know.

For the price of $10/month with no contract, it's damn hard to beat. People who join places like LA or Bally, it's about being trendy. I was one of them when I went to Bally. I ended up hating it.

That is all. Have a good day. Go Tigers.

It's good for people who are cardio queens. If you actually want to get fit, go elsewhere.

I've was a member until I was doing deads and my hands started to slip and I had to drop the weights. Stupid little light went off. Manager came over said I shouldn't do that. Told him it slipped. He didn't care. I terminated my membership.

Went to a real gym after. Cost a little more but no bitches complaining about intimidation.

Ive never seen anyone be approached by management for having a weight "slip".

I hear people all the time re-rack the bar on the smith machine very loudly a lot and never hear the alarm.
