Maybe flying to Japan next year and saw a good deal on Delta.

Here my options: ATL, MSP, LAX, DTW, SEA. Have 90 minutes at least at each one.

TIA

DTW was awesome when I was living in MI, I just figured I'd get sick of it.

to add to OP: flying from DFW, but AA was pricey.

Considering the flight is 16+ hours, I wouldn't worry about 90 minutes in an airport.
If the prices are similar, choose JAL.

I'd prefer JAL/ANA, etc., the prices on DL were quite cheaper.

lol

Atlanta is one of the best airports in the world.

Oh but of course, you're from Louisiana, so nothing at all in Atlanta could possibly be even the tiniest bit competent.

Hey, look. Some yokel got on a plane once, and now he's an expert on airports!

Better listen to this one.

But yeah 90 minutes means it doesn't really matter what airport you choose because you won't have time to do anything anyways.

I'd pick DTW (besides being a good airport) just because you'll get more miles and it's a longer flight. But I'm weird.

From DFW, I could go to ATL, then to Tokyo-NRT and rack up miles

On top of the miles, the Sky Club at DTW is much better than any of the others.

I think ATL was the shortest connection, but MSP/DTW/LAX were over 2 hrs.

ATL if you have an above average IQ. Otherwise you won't understand how easy and efficient ATL is and you'll be like a lab rat.

Yep I found you:

Both terminals at DTW are really nice. Haven't done sky club, though

Flew from Tampa to JFK, from JFK to Tokyo in 2013. Grueling long flight. I'd break it up as much as possible - so if you're in Texas or east of Texas, I'd suggest you do a hop over the ocean from somewhere out West, or on the West Coast as your connecting airport. We flew American Airlines in 2013. Meh.

United is a better option - my wife and daughter prefer it to Japan. Never took Delta there, so I don't know, but Delta is great domestically. Agree that JAL is the one to try, but price considerations?
