I know there is a poster on here who always recommends GLSP, I was hoping he would respond.

Yep, I started doing this program after his recommendation and I like it. I did Starting Strength before this and I like the GSLP a lot better.

Start doing heavier compound lifts. More weight, lower reps.

How strong do you really need to be? Are you lifting competitively?

I am not trying to lift competitively, I just want to switch from my gym's more conditioning focused programming to a more strength biased program. I already squat, dead lift, clean and bench.
I just wanted to know if anyone on here has followed any of the different programs I mentioned and could lend advice on which ones they preferred and why.
