And adding liquor.

Yes. I was.

And adderall.

I was a high functioning alcoholic who was told slow down or die. I was yellow as a vegetarian at the endm

If you get the shakes (DT's), you need to wean because you might have a withdrawal seizure. If not, you are OK with cold turkey. It takes many years (decades) of hardcore abuse to devolve to end-stage ETOH addiction. Another sign is the inability to hold down food leading to weight loss.

If you are on a serious bender then there are health risks associated with quitting cold turkey. Seizures, even death I'm pretty sure. Alcohol is one of the few (maybe only) substance whose withdrawals can kill you. I don't think 6 beers a day qualifies as a serious bender, but I'm no expert in that regard.

It's been 2 weeks, why is everyone even acting like this is a valid concern? After 2 years maybe you would have issues, even then probably not.

Quit cold turkey. That's what I did on Jan. 1, 1992. Now, nearly 25 years later I haven't had a drop--and haven't missed it at all.

Same here...but 1999 for me---don't miss it one bit.

if someone drinks a fifth of vodka every day for three years they should be ok when they quit cold turkey. Right? Asking for a friend.

I've drinking a 6 pack minimum per day everyday

Is it ok to quit cold turkey at this point or should I taper off over the next couple of days?

Well you may get thirsty. Have a bottle of water on hand just in case.

Jesus Christ, this is retarded. You might as well ask if you should taper off your two snickers bars a day habit. It's been two weeks, pussy.

He may be an idiot but no one has ever died from doing that. I refuse to believe that there's a death certificate that reads cause of death "drinking beer for fourteen days and then not drinking beer".

Dude just stop if it's only been 2 weeks. The fun part is going to be seeing if you can actually stop.

I suspect that his volume of drinking may have been more substantial over that month. However, I was young and don't know how much.
